Welcome to the Imaginatorium.

Take a seat and leave the roar of the world and the carousel of thoughts inside your head for a moment behind you,

and bath a little in the green of the forest and the blue of the sky.

Here you can find nature and light.

Have you ever asked yourself?

What is beauty?

Is it only in our mind, as a thought? Or: we can perceive it only in the direct view rightly? In the direct gaze without transfiguration, without meaning, without any ideas;

Beauty as direct perception.

Imaginatory means: Seeing the beauty in all things, in every leaf, every branch, in every beam of light.

We live in strange times, alienated in an alienated world, in which nature has become something other from ourselves.

In our asphalt jungle nature plays a role mostly as an idea; as something abstract, something to protect, or to take advantage of. Forest and nature as opposed to culture and society. As if we were different, as if we were not nature too, as if evolution had stopped with us, and we are now as gods, descended from the garden of Eden, to rule over nature as we see fit.

Imaginatory means to step out of the echo chamber in our head and rediscover the world with clear eyes.

The world is big and beautiful, but we live most of our lives in our heads, chasing after shadows. And through these shadows we barely see the world anymore; the beauty of being only glimpsed on rare occasions of clarity.

Solayr means to let the shadows pass and instead to look at the beauty of the world turning around us.

Not to live yesterday or tomorrow, but here and now.

Both of my series Imaginatory and Solayr aim to bring you a part of nature, a part of the light of the world into your home.

I frame all the pictures in a handmade wooden frame.

Both series consist of 33 images, each image from Imaginatory with an edition of 3, each image from Solayr with an edition of 5.

If the edition of one of the images is reached, it is archived and a new image replaces it, from #34 onwards.
